Step Pattern Brooch

This brooch is our own creation, based on a medallion from the Moylough belt shrine from Ireland. The original piece dates from the 8th century, and features a cross design with step pattern cells that were enamelled in black. 

Our brooch follows this style, which was well known in the 8th century, only re-purposed as a a disc brooch with integral cast tabs on the back. The cells are filled with red enamel, as was common for the period. The brooch could be used as a clothing fastener for LARP, re-enactment, or personal use. 

We are also able to customise this design for use on leatherwork if required. Drop us an email if you want to know more. 

The brooch is hand cast in tin bronze, and filled with a hard resin enamel. Due to the hand made nature of this item there may be some small variations in the finished item. We endeavour to keep these in stock, however if you require one within 30 days please email for availability.
