Trumpet brooch.
This is something a bit different for us. It is based on a brooch style, also known as a fibula, that was widespread in Britain from the late 1st century through the 2nd century. They are considered to be a Romano British development of the bow brooch, or fibula, which were common across Europe.
These brooches were usually manufactured in bronze or silver, and would be used for fastening clothing. The loop on the hinge end could also be used to suspend essential personal items. They can be used singularly, or as a pair. If you would like a pair then please order 2 brooches.
This brooch is made of pewter, with a stainless steel pin and loop. The pins and loops are all hand made, so there will be some variation in the exact shape. The pin is very strong and will hold the brooch, and any garment it is used to fasten. While this is not the same materials as the original brooches, this brooch is ideal for LARP, general costuming, or any presentation where a Romano British look is desired.
