One Inch Ringerike Buckle and Plate with Iron Tongue

This buckle is based on an English example, and is in the Ringerike style, with animal heads biting the crossbar. The tendrils from the point of the buckle are also typical of the Ringerike style. This style dates the design to the 11th century.

This buckle and plate is cast in lead free pewter, which is fairly soft, so care is required when attaching it to leather. See our ready made belt section if you want us to do that for you.
