¾ Inch Birka Borre Style Buckle and Plate with Iron Tongue

This buckle is based on one from Birka, in Sweden. We selected this one to accompany the York Borre style strap end as the design is in the same style. Indeed there are strap ends from Birka that are very similar to the York one. The buckle plate is decorated with triangular stamps with 3 pellets, and the design dates from the 10th century.

This buckle and plate is cast in lead free pewter, which is fairly soft, so care is required when attaching it to leather. See our ready made belt section if you want us to do that for you.
